Notes for Lester Bahner
Lester A. Bahner, 81, Belvue, died Friday, October 18, 1985, at a Rossville nursing home where he had lived for three weeks. He had cancer.

Mr. Bahner was a retired farmer, and also formerly worked for the Wabaunsee County road maintenance department. He had lived all of his life in the area.
He was born August 15, 1904, in Wabaunsee, the son of Joe and Amanda Buchmeier Bahner.

Mr. Bahner was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Wells Creek, and served on the church council for many years.

He was married to Dorothy Holz September 18, 1928, in Wells Creek. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1978. She survives.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Lou Ayers, in October 1983.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lois Ann Nelson, West Covina, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Alice Rischer, Belvue; three brothers, Howard Bahner, Pueblo, Colo., Alfred Bahner, Belvue, and Ben Bahner, Topeka; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Stewart Funeral Home, Wamego. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery, south of Belvue. Family visitation was from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. memorial contributions are suggested to the Kansas Heart Association, in care of the Stewart Funeral Home.
