Services for Ralph Wesley Taylor, 82, rural White Cloud, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at White Cloud Community Christian Church. Burial will be at the Olive Branch-White Cloud Cemetery.

Masonic graveside services will be conducted by the Smithton Lodge No. 1, Highland.

Mr. Taylor died Saturday, July 25, 1998, at his home.

He was born Dec. 28, 1915, in rural White Cloud, the son of Peter and Ada W. Park Taylor. He was a lifelong resident of White Cloud, and worked as a farmer and stockman.

He served on the White Cloud board of education from 1949 to 1965, and served as Doniphan County Commissioner for District 1 from 1974 to 1975.

He graduated in 1934 from White Cloud High School.

Mr. Taylor was a member of the White Cloud Community Christian Church, a 50-year member of the Smithton Masonic Lodge No. 1 AF & AM in Highland, and was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1741 in Hiawatha.

He married Ida L. Kleckinger on Sept. 26, 1939, at Hiawatha. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Ralph Douglas, Highland, and David Phillip, Oskaloosa; a daughter, Judith Bernice Holliday, Topeka; a brother, Herman L. ``Mike'' Taylor, White Cloud; a sister, Bernice Taylor, Shalimar, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A son, Dwight Wesley Taylor, preceded him in death in 1993.

Friends may call after noon Tuesday at the White Cloud Community Christian Church, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The family suggests memorials to the church. Memorials may be sent in care of the Silver Lake Bank, White Cloud Branch, White Cloud, 66094, or to Barnett Funeral Home, 820 Liberty, Oskaloosa, 66066, which is handling arrangements.
